Giraffe Pro Camera: A Win for Agents and Photographers

Giraffe Pro Camera Review: Why It's a Win for Both Estate Agents and Photographers

A closer look at Giraffe360's flagship camera, and why I think it's got something for almost everyone in property marketing (including Real Estate agents!).

I recently spent some proper time with the Giraffe Pro Camera for a full YouTube review, and it's left me with a lot to say — more than fits neatly into a video. So here's the written version, with a bit more room to think out loud about who this camera is actually for, and why I reckon it benefits estate agents and photographers in quite different ways.

Two very different types of estate agent, one solution

Estate agents aren't one homogenous group, and it's worth splitting them into two rough camps before we talk about where the Giraffe Pro Camera fits in.

On one hand you've got the small independent agents — fewer listings on the books, which usually means a bit more breathing room to get out and shoot their own photography and content. For agents like this, the Giraffe Pro Camera is basically a photography department in a box. No more juggling a camera bag and a laptop full of half-finished floor plans; one scan gets you HDR photos, a virtual tour, an ANSI-compliant floor plan, and video, all in one visit. That's a serious saving on photography costs for an agent who was previously either doing it (badly, let's be honest) on a phone, or paying out for a photographer on every single listing.

Then you've got the other end of the scale: the larger agencies with hundreds of live listings, who realistically don't have the time — or often the inclination — to be out shooting content themselves. For agencies like this, the Giraffe Pro Camera doesn't cut the photographer out of the picture at all. If anything, it becomes a reason to hire one. A photographer who owns and knows how to use a Giraffe Pro Camera can turn a single visit into a full media package for the agency, faster and more consistently than shooting everything manually.

So you end up with a genuinely rare situation in property tech: everybody wins. Small agents save a fortune doing it themselves. Large agencies get a faster, more consistent pipeline by hiring photographers equipped with the tech. Nobody has to feel like they've lost out.

The elephant in the room: AI and the future of property photography

I'll be honest with you — as a photographer of nine years, cameras like this one do give me a small knot in my stomach. The Giraffe Pro Camera leans heavily on AI and automation, and tools like this are steadily making high-quality content creation accessible to people who, a few years ago, would have had no choice but to book a professional.

That's a real shift, and I don't think it helps anyone to pretend otherwise.

But here's where I've landed on it: a camera can capture data. It cannot compose a shot. There is still — and I think there will always be — a difference between a technically correct HDR panorama and an image that's actually been composed with an eye for light, lines, and how a room wants to be seen. Agents and agencies who care about how their listings actually look, not just whether the boxes have been ticked, will keep needing photographers who understand composition. The Giraffe Pro Camera doesn't remove that skill from the equation; it just removes a lot of the repetitive, time-consuming parts around it. If anything, it frees up photographers to spend their time on the bit that actually needs a human eye.

Image quality: seeing is believing

Specs are all well and good, but the real test is what comes out the other end. Here's a small selection of stills captured on the Giraffe Pro Camera during testing:

The consistency across rooms and lighting conditions is what stands out most to me — no blown-out windows, no murky corners, just clean, evenly balanced HDR straight off the camera. For more examples, check out the Giraffe website!

Numbers and stills only tell you so much — the tours themselves are where the Giraffe Pro Camera really shows what it can do. Here's an example tour to have a wander around:

Where Giraffe is heading next

One last thing worth flagging: Giraffe aren't sitting still with this platform, and there's a good chunk of upcoming development that I think is worth knowing about if you're weighing this up for the long term. I've covered what's in the pipeline in a separate video, "Kitchen" — worth a watch if you want the fuller picture of where the platform's going.

Final thoughts

The Giraffe Pro Camera isn't trying to replace anyone — it's trying to remove friction. Small agents get their time back, larger agencies get a faster and more reliable pipeline, and photographers who adopt it get to spend less time on repetitive capture work and more time on the composition and creative decisions that actually still need a trained eye. Given everything AI is doing to this industry at the moment, that feels like a pretty sensible place to land.
